Our mission is to maximize transferable business value - to uncover risks in an owner's business, build significant value prior to a transition, and align an owner’s business, personal, and financial goals, allowing them to eventually exit their business on their own terms and without regret.

We understand the challenges business owners face today.  Recent surveys by the Exit Planning Institute (EPI) show that many owners have little to no exit planning in place, even though many of them have 80 to 90 percent of their net worth in the business itself. EPI estimates that some 4.5 million firms representing more than $10 trillion in business value could transition over the next decade or so, but only about 20 to 30 percent of businesses that go to market end up selling. This estimate is consistent with a recent national report by BizBuySell, which indicated about one of every five listings on the online marketplace for small business sales and purchases had closed a sales transaction in 2016.

While each client and each situation is different, his training and life experience is the added value he brings to each case. 

Mike provides business owners with strategies for growing their business and increasing its enterprise value.  He also offers succession planning for our business owner clients to help ensure a more successful transition out of their business when they are ready.  

He received his Chartered Financial Consultant designation (ChFC) through the American College in Bryn Maur, PA. He is also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) through the Exit Planning Institute. 

Mike believes in community service and giving back to the areas where he lives and works. His memberships and community activities have included:

  • Trustee, Iowa 4-H Foundation
  • Trustee/Past President, Union County Development Association
